One large scale cash donation opportunity is through Harris Teeter. They are doing a Round Up campaign to support disaster relief efforts for communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. Through October 28th, all stores will be inviting customers to round up their purchase to the nearest whole dollar at checkout to benefit the American Red Cross. 100% of funds donated will go directly to the Red Cross, to assist in their efforts to provide relief and resources to those in need

United Way of North Carolina is the fiscal agent for the Fund and will provide grants and reimbursement to nonprofits working in impacted communities. Click here to donate directly.
From NC Emergency Management:
In the aftermath of devastating storms like Helene, it is natural for people to want to help by donating supplies to victims. Unfortunately though, sudden influxes of donations directly into a disaster area can complicate and overwhelm recovery efforts. Currently, in Western NC, there are just not enough secure storage facilities or workers to effectively receive, organize, and manage the distribution of items to those in need. Donations are welcomed, and definitely needed, but please – contact the NC Business Emergency Operations Center (BEOC) to coordinate delivery and receipt of all donated items. They will be able to direct resources to appropriate designated staging areas that are staffed and equipped to receive these donations.
