BLACKPINK star JENNIE has released a new solo song, Someone to Hold, bringing her voice to the soundtrack of Netflix’s upcoming animated film Steps.
Released on November 6, the track was written and produced by Justin Tranter. The song features disco-inspired pop production, layered vocals, strings, and a prominent bassline. Its lyrics focus on emotional connection, loyalty, and the importance of having someone to rely on during difficult moments.
The new single is connected to Steps, an animated musical that offers a different perspective on the classic Cinderella story. Instead of following Cinderella, the film centers on her stepsisters and explores themes of family, relationships, and personal growth.
Directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, the movie features a voice cast that includes Ali Wong, Amanda Seyfried, Stephanie Hsu, Bette Midler, and Nikki Glaser.
Someone to Hold adds another soundtrack contribution to JENNIE’s solo career following her recent collaboration with Tame Impala on Dracula.
Steps and its complete soundtrack are scheduled to arrive on Netflix on November 20.
