I’m Mo. I’ve spent a lifetime honing my tastes and curating a palate for music. I remember the first song I ever heard on my own and liking; noticing it was somehow different than the classics from the 60s and 70s that my parents played that I knew and love. It was the 1995 one hit wonder by Deep Blue Something, “Breakfast At Tiffany’s”.
Deep Blue Something may never have had another hit, but that was the beginning of my musical journey bringing me here to Magic.
You can hear me weekdays from 2-6pm. I share life hacks (you get to decide if they’re actually a good idea or not), all the trivia, deep cuts from some amazing artists, and pretty much any thoughts I have that won’t get me fined, fired or, you know, arrested.
Any time I’m not on the air, you should assume I’m hanging with my three womb nuggets, ensuring they know exactly when they are supposed to head bang when listening to Bohemian Rhapsody in a moving vehicle, while we’re on our way to a thrift store, hunting for new additions to my many collections. You can also find me attempting to revive a houseplant that had the audacity to die on me, petting a cat, sending stickers to penpals or with my nose in a book.
I hope you enjoy my time on the air. Come romp in the sticky nostalgia of the eighties, nineties and 2000s with me. Together, we’ll teach the next generation about what good music means and why it matters. I hope our station means as much to you as the one I listened to in my bedroom meant to me when I was a kid. I hope it’s an experience that’s deeper than streaming any song on demand. And, sincerely, I hope it makes you do the same thing as the American glam metal band Autograph said, back in 1984… “Turn Up the Radio.”
