A producer has filed a lawsuit alleging that Kanye West used unpaid and uncredited AI vocal work on Vultures 2 and Bully. The complaint, submitted anonymously in Los Angeles Superior Court, claims the producer was hired on an emergency basis two days before Vultures 2 was released in 2024.
Court allegations state that the producer created at least 13 custom AI voice models, generated more than 400 individual vocal recordings, and used his own voice as source material. He says his work appeared on five tracks from the album.
The producer also claims he began additional AI vocal programming for Bully in October 2024. According to the filing, neither West nor his YZY label paid him for the work or listed him in the production credits on streaming platforms.
The lawsuit seeks at least $110,000 and includes claims of breach of contract, unjust enrichment, and violations of California labor protections. West previously said Bully did not use AI, though he has openly discussed using the technology during songwriting and recording. His representatives have not publicly responded to the allegations.
